“First a man makes a house, then he makes a boat, only then can he make a chair”

ergonomic chairs: supportive and strong

Lying on my back in pain during my studies, led me to design a practical and supportive chair, so that those with minor spinal injuries and strains can sit in comfort.

Any body who suffers with agony in and around there spine knows how un suitable most chairs are for sitting in, the back rest on these chairs supports the spine beautifully.

The back is formed using a lamination of timber that has been steamed to make it supple enough to take the curves, it is joined, formed and cured to leave an exceptionally strong and resilient structure, the back piece runs, in some designs, from the head to the floor with no joins making a very strong chair.

the formed backrest has been used in many designs all sold privately through various galleries over the years.
